August 1st is the anticipated imposed deadline of Monmouth’s Public Square construction. Mayor Rod Davies shares recent completions and the next areas of work:

“They just finished another large underground piece at the intersection of East Broadway and South 1st. That was a big sewer interceptor and manhole that we had to replace. Also, they are replacing the storm water inlets and piping there, so we are getting that done. We are going to have South Main opened up on both sides this week and will keep moving forward. We will probably start in Market Alley before too long and that quadrant will be the last to be done.”

Meanwhile, Phase 1 of the road reconstruction project on Harlem Avenue is to begin after the 4th of July and is expected to take four to six months to complete.
