It has been brought to our attention that restricted numbers are calling citizens, posing as police officers, and claiming that individuals have warrants. These scammers may know some basic information about the person they are calling such as name, address, and email address. They may text or email what appears to be an arrest warrant and demand payment in lieu of an arrest. This is a SCAM. Do NOT send money. Officers will never ask citizens for money over the phone or via email. If you or someone you know has fallen victim to this scam, contact your bank immediately to cancel the transaction and/or close your accounts.
