The West Central football team capped off an amazing Homecoming week with a shutout victory over the West Prairie/Southeastern co-op. This game was all Heat from the opening kickoff, as they took a 14-0 lead into halftime and carried that momentum into the second half, finishing the night with a dominant 36-0 win. The star of the night was junior Cameron Robinson, who carried the ball merely 10 times but racked up 141 yards and two touchdowns. Senior running back Eli Vancil also joined in on the fun, scoring his first career touchdown on a 31-yard run. The Heat found success through the air as well, with Colton Spence connecting with Reed Plate on a 70-yard touchdown pass.

With the win, West Central improves to 4-1. One more victory will secure them a spot in the postseason. The Heat will look to lock that up on Friday when they host the Galva Wildcats. Head Coach Jason Kirby says this is not the same Galva team they have seen in recent seasons.

Galva enters the matchup with a 2-3 record but has shown they can score in bunches, putting up a combined 132 points in their two wins. West Central will look to improve to 5-1 and become playoff eligible for the second straight season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday night in Biggsville.
