Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Burlington Man on Child Exploitation Charges

On October 31st 2025, deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marvin L. Bedenbender, age 47, of Burlington, Iowa, on multiple felony charges related to the attempted exploitation of a child. 

The arrest occurred in Oquawka, Illinois, following an investigation by Deputies that began after information regarding online communications allegedly involving Bedenbender and an individual he believed to be a minor.

As a result of the investigation, Marvin L. Bedenbender has been charged with the following offenses: 

  • Traveling to Meet a Minor — Class 3 Felony 
  • Indecent Solicitation of a Child — Class 4 Felony 
  • Grooming — Class 4 Felony 
  • Solicitation to Meet a Child — Class 4 Felony 

Bedenbender was taken into custody without incident. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
