The 47th Annual Chamber Thanksgiving Luncheon took place on Monday, November 24th, at Cedar Creek Hall in Galesburg, bringing together local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and invited guests for a memorable celebration of gratitude and progress.
Guests were welcomed by Tom Dunker, Vice President of CBI Bank and Trust, setting the tone for an afternoon of reflection and community spirit.
This year’s Keynote Speaker was Jeannie Weber, Executive Director of United Way of West Central Illinois, who highlighted the vital role nonprofit organizations play in supporting and strengthening our communities.
The program also featured Galesburg City Manager Eric Hanson, delivering the State of the City Address and sharing how Galesburg’s growth and improvements in recent years are gaining recognition at both the state and national levels.
A highlight of the luncheon was the presentation of the Thomas B. Herring Community Service Award. Last year’s recipient, Sue Dutell, took the stage to introduce this year’s honoree: Mark A. Thomas, owner of Watson-Thomas Funeral Home in Galesburg, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community.
The event combined fellowship, recognition, and inspiration, underscoring the strength and unity that define Galesburg.
