Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 15th, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys wrestler, Landon Peterson. Landon’s fantastic season is continuing on another week as his performance at the sectional meet qualified him for the IHSA Class 1A state finals. Landon, who will take an overall season record of (36-3) into the finals, went (2-2) and placed 4th at 138 pounds in the Stanford Olympia sectional tournament.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Nolan Jenks. Nolan is getting hot as the regular season winds down. He averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds in three Red Storm victories last week. Nolan nearly posted a double-double in an LTC Tournament win over Ridgewood, scoring 19 points and hauling in 8 rebounds.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Lia Klossing. Lia led the Heat in scoring and rebounding in their two games last week. She averaged 10.5 points and five rebounds. Lia poured in 15 points and went 3-for-3 from behind the 3-point arc in a narrow, 4-point loss to United.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior girls wrestler, Dai Driana Wilford. Dai Driana placed 3rd in the 130 pound weight class at the Dekalb Sectional tournament. That qualified her for the IHSA State Finals. She will take a fantastic overall record of (27-6) into the finals in Bloomington.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Ryker Darst. Ryker filled up the stat sheet in 3 Tornado wins last week. He led the team in scoring, averaging 15 points per game. Ryker also led the way with an amazing 7 assists per game and was second in rebounding.
