Local Monmouth Resident Thomas Booth Transitioning from Opera Singer to Author

Share

Local Monmouth resident Thomas Booth has toured the United States and traveled to Europe to share his voice as an Acclaimed International Tenor, which Booth shared he learned to sing in several languages in order to perform Opera in the foreign countries:

“In college is did take a little bit of Italian, German, and French. I really liked Italian better than the other ones, but you know when you are performing in a foreign language, the audience, the native speakers, they expect you to know what is going on and to look like you are involved in the part and that your pronunciation be very accurate; they are paying you to be there and they expect a high standard. I did have to work to improve my languages. I did speak a lot of German because rehearsals were in German. It is very important because it shows respect to your host country and to the Opera and to the audience.”

Now retired from singing Opera, Booth has now transitioned into becoming an author with his latest work being a co-author on ‘The Power of Leadership with Tom Booth.’
