MPD Investigator Josh Kramer Talks Rise of Identity Theft Scammers Purchasing Homes

Scams and identity theft go hand in hand when those “bad actors” try and obtain your personal information for their own gains by opening credit cards, bank accounts, or one that has been on the rise nationally is purchasing houses says Monmouth Police Department Investigator Josh Kramer:

“They are actually getting financing through an online financing agency and buying houses. Usually on the backside of how that comes to be found are taxes get filed and then you will owe taxes on a residence in Nevada.”

Take steps to protect your personal information to avoid falling victim of a scam and watch out for out of the ordinary purchases, suspicious activity on bank statements, unexpected mail, lost documents, or suspicious phone calls or text messages.
