Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 26, 2023:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jerome Jackson. Jerome had a great regional tournament on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. In the quarterfinals against Canton, he scored 11 points, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. Jerome also handed out four assists and had 3 steals. Jerome scored 7 points in the semifinals against state-ranked Rockridge.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Ian Dominique. Ian averaged 15.5 points in two regional games, including 18 points in a regional semifinal win over Geneseo. He drilled six, 3-point shots in the game. Among those six 3’s was a single season record breaking 85th triple of the season. Ian ended the season with a Silver Streak boy’s single-season record 91 made 3-pointers.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Kellen Hook. Kellen’s offensive and defensive performances in the regional semifinals helped the Tornadoes to nearly pull off an upset over ROWVA/Williamsfield. He posted 12 points and 3 rebounds. Kellen also had two steals and a blocked shot on the defensive end.

There were no sporting events for United or West Central last week.
