Mary Louise Lindsey, 90, of Abingdon, Illinois, died at 7:08 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

Mary was born July 18, 1932 the daughter of Russell and Neola (Gossard) Kepple. Mary married Charles E. Lindsey on August 14, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2008.

Mary is survived by two sons, Dan (Martha) Lindsey of Abingdon and Gerald (Cathie Bailey) Lindsey of Abingdon, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jason (Anna) Lindsey, Brent Lindsey, Gretchen Lindsey, and Shelby Lindsey; and seven great grandchildren. Along with her husband, Mary was preceded in death by one son, Tim Lindsey; as well all her brothers and sisters.

Mary worked at Blue Bell in Abingdon until their closure, she then began working at Admiral and later Maytag retiring in 1974. Mary and Charles enjoyed many years of boating as well as traveling and camping together. Mary enjoyed gardening and tending to the flowers around her home. She also liked to crochet in her free time.

Cremation will be accorded. No public services are planned. Mary’s cremated remains will be interred with her husband at Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF St. Mary Auxiliary.
