Ralph W. Peel, 72, of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 12:30 pm, Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home.

Ralph was born May 23, 1951 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Floyd Joseph and Ruth Veda (Hanley) Peel.  He was raised and educated in Kirkwood, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1970.

Ralph married Bessie B. Younk in Burlington, IA on August 4, 1990 and she survives.

Ralph worked at Wells Pet Food as an operator, Monmouth Stone as a heavy equipment operator and he most recently worked as a maintenance technician at Big River Resources in West Burlington, IA. He enjoyed fishing, lawn mowing, hunting, watching westerns on tv and playing cards with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Bess Peel of Kirkwood, IL; his children, Ralph J. (Jessica D.) Peel of Little York, IL, Tonya M. Chandler of Kirkwood, IL, Sally Jo Coleman of Galva, IL, Rick K. Younk of Galesburg, IL, Tina M. Heatherly of Monmouth, IL, and Gina M. (Wesley) Epperson of Monmouth, IL; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ora (Tammy) Peel of  Roseville, IL , Paul (Robin) Peel of  Kirkwood, IL, Janet (Steve) Earp of Biggsville, IL, Jeff (Teresa) Peel of Little York, IL , and Mary (Roger) Barton of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Thomas Ralph Heatherly; his brother, Frank Joseph Peel along with 2 additional brothers and 2 sisters in infancy.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Funeral Home.  Cremation rites have been accorded.
