Rebecca Sue Sottos, 70, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Monday, June 19, 2023 at home.

Becky was born October 12, 1952 in Gaelsburg, the daughter of Sam and Mildred Irene (Nelson) Sottos. After graduating from Galesburg High School, Becky began working at Maytag, remaining there until its closure in 2004. Becky had recently been working at Suzi’s in Galesburg.

Becky is survived by two granddaughters, Madison (Ryan) Polito of Crown Point, Indiana and Sadie Sottos of Crown Point, Indiana; one sister, Debbie Golliher of Galesburg; two nieces, Christina Hendricks of Galesburg and Tammy (Darin) Johnson of Galesburg; and her long-time companion, Harold “Greek” Hulse of Galesburg. Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her only son, Sam Sottos of May 27, 2021.

In her free time, Becky enjoyed playing bingo and pull tabs. She was a talented cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. Becky loved her cats and dog, Chance. She will be remembered for her caring nature and being a jokester.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family services will be held, and her cremated remains will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg alongside her parents and son. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
