What Kind of Credit Score is Needed to Purchase a Home?

Share

Buying a home is a significant investment. While having a good credit score is helpful in a smooth mortgage process, a lower score does not mean you cannot purchase a home, explains 217 Mortgage Senior Mortgage Banker Justin Gensler:

“The mortgage rule is that it is all fixable, let’s just put it that way. You can’t do anything today that is going to make it where you can never buy a house, it is impossible to do that. Credit reports have somewhat of a short-term memory when it comes to that. Most of the time if you just get back on track for the next six to twelve months, no matter what you did in the past, you will get to the spot.”

According to a 217 Mortgage article, the greatest tip to keep in mind when it comes to buying a house is to continue saving any way you can.
