Still No Shot Clock for High School Hoops in Illinois

Share

A shot clock will not be used this season in high school basketball – at least, that’s the word from the Illinois High School Association.

The IHSA board still needs time to receive and review feedback from small tournaments allowing a shot clock.

Here’s IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson.

According to Anderson, the board is allowing shot clocks for tournaments and shootouts.

As far as the new and-one rule, Anderson says they received that recommendation from a national association.

The new rule was reviewed by a group that oversees the federation of high school athletic association.
