Deputies Encountering Higher Number of Incidents Involving Individuals with Altered States of Mind

Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards reports there has been an increasingly higher number of incidents involving encounters with individuals, and repeat offenders, experiencing mental health episodes:

Sheriff Edwards informs that if an incarcerated individual shows direction of the need for a mental health evaluation or committal, the 20 day window of response by the Department of Human Services has now been extended to 60 days, causing those persons to be in the jail longer than they should have been.
