Protect Your Online Delivers This Holiday Season

The holiday season is right around the corner, which also means scammers are ready to target holiday shoppers that try and take advantage of the rise in online shopping and home deliveries. Monmouth Police Department Investigator Josh Kramer offers tips to avoid those porch pirates stealing your packages:

“If you have something delivered, or you are expecting something valuable, make sure somebody is home. Tracking information is pretty on point nowadays, you can see exactly where your package is at. Maybe have it delivered somewhere where there is somebody there to accept it; work, family, friends, or somebody that maybe works from home that can get that package for you, just so it is not sitting out on your porch. The longer a package sits out there unclaimed, the more likely you are to become a victim. I always tell people that cameras are a great tool as well.”

According to a report from aura.com, Americans are expected to spend an overage of $1,000 this holiday season.
