Roger E. Chase, 71, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.

Roger was born on May 23, 1952 in Quincy. He was the son of Bobby E. and Betty (Jackson) Chase. He married Karen Bradshaw in 1973, she preceded him in death. He later married Kathy McDowell in September of 1987 in Knoxville. Together they celebrated 36 years of marriage. Surviving Roger is his loving wife, Kathy at home; sons, Bobby Chase of Abingdon, Kevin (Jasmine) Chase of Abingdon, Roger (Amanda Clays) Chase, Jr. of Oak Run and Joshua (Rachel) Link of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Miguel Chase, Tyler and KatieLynn Chase, Penelope, Georgie, Carolyn and Juniper Link; siblings, Marita (Parker) Smizer of Middle Grove, Alan Chase of Rock Island and Michael (Carolyn) Chase of Abingdon; and niece McKenzie Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents and Karen.

Roger was a maintenance man at Galesburg Castings for over 50 years, retiring in 2017. He was a very quiet man who would sit in the corner and watch those around him. He loved to tinker, wrench and restore old cars, and riding his motorcycle.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the family.
