Mr. Randall G. Hambleton, 78, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully at 11:11 am, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home with his daughters by his side.

Randy was born November 29, 1945, in Paxton, Illinois the son of Gale C. and Sylvia (Garner) Hambleton. He married Judy Sampson and from that union were three daughters, Jennifer Hambleton-Holliday of Lincoln, Illinois, Carrie Sampson-Hambleton of Galesburg and Shannon (Dave) Hambleton-Fangmeier of Mason City, Illinois. Randy later married Marilyn J. Hamilton on June 20, 1998, in Galesburg, she preceded in death on December 12, 2014.

Randy is also survived by his brother Larry (Lois) Hambleton of Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsie) Hilton, Jade Fangmeier, Colton Holliday and Gentri Fangmeier and one great grandson, Ronan Holliday. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marilyn.

Randy attended Hoopeston High School and after graduation he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Sp5. Upon returning home he graduated from Eastern Illinois University receiving his bachelor’s degree. Randy was an over the road truck driver for many years for Star Trucking. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. To say that Randy loved golf was an understatement, he could usually be found at Bunker Links Golf Course. He made great friends and wonderful memories golfing in golf leagues throughout years.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 10:45 am at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Andrew Wingo officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Knox County Honor Guard.
