Oscar E. Miller, 64, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 at his home in Monmouth.

He was born on January 10, 1960 in Aledo, IL, the son of Oscar E. and Dorothy M. (Humes) Miller.  He was raised and educated in Mercer County. 

Oscar married Kathleen Marie Harper on December 5, 1980 in Monmouth, IL; she preceded him in death on February 19, 2011. 

Oscar worked at Wilson Foods in Monmouth for 10 years.  He later worked at Roadway in Rock Island until his retirement.  Oscar enjoyed going fishing, camping, shooting, smoking meat, and tinkering around in the garage.  He like to go to auctions, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Surviving Oscar are his children, Joanie (Jay) Harper-Doan of Galesburg, IL, Mike Miller of Monmouth, IL, Matthew Miller of Monmouth, IL, and Eddie (Nadeige) Miller of Monmouth, IL; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one uncle, Ralph Miller of Rushville, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one grandson.

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Oscar Miller Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
