In the middle of the 31st season, the second half of the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series continues on Tuesday, March 19th with Rockland Road performing, playing a variety of genres. Co-President of the Board, Stan Jenks, shares the families ties to country music:
“The mother, she is the daughter of Duane Allen, one of the singers with the Oak Ridge Boys. Then her mother was a background singer with the Grand Ole Opry. She has a lot of music genes that she has passed on to the children. Then the husband, Paul Martin, he was with the country rock band Exile. So, mother, dad, and four children make up Rockland Road. They do a variety of genres. There will be rhythm and blues, there is going to be country, and there will be gospel.”
Rockland Road will perform inside Dahl Chapel on the Monmouth College campus on March 19th beginning at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in Downtown Monmouth.
