Linda K. Fredrickson, age 80, formerly of Kirkwood, IL  passed away at the Lacon Rehab and Nursing Home in Lacon, Illinois on April 11, 2024 at 12:10 pm. Linda was born on February 1, 1944 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Dale E. and Mildred B. Munson Van Riper. She was raised in Kirkwood, Illinois where she attended local schools and graduated from Little York High School in 1962. She then attended the Burlington Beauty Academy where she received her certification as a beautician. She has since cut and styled hair for many years. Linda was formerly married to Richard L. Fillman. She began work as a beautician at Bowman Colwell Department Store in Monmouth, After her marriage Linda became employed at Wilson Foods of Monmouth where she worked on the production line. More recently Linda was employed at Ernie’s Restaurant in Pekin, Illinois and later at Golden Corral in Peoria, Illinois. Linda loved photography and loved to take pictures, often photographing wildlife while in Kirkwood. She formerly was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Morgan and John of Chillicothe, Illinois and Lori Eibeck and Martin of Mapleton, Illinois. There are four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren surviving. Two brothers survive her, John E. Van Riper and Beverly and Keith A. Van Riper, both of Kirkwood, Illinois. There are a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, her daughter Debbie, her sister, Lucy Crouser, brother, Rodney, and grandson, Nicholas Tatro. 

A funeral service for Linda is planned on Friday April 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans visitation and will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established for either, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the A-lateral Sclerosis Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
