Lynnea Lee Henry, 77, of East Galesburg, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

She was born July 22, 1947, in Galesburg, the daughter of Lester Lee and Eleanor Odessa (Swanson) Henry.

She is survived by two children, Damon (Mindy Gosset) Huddle of Galesburg and Dara (Justin) Hensley of Knoxville; and seven grandchildren, Christian, Dawson, Ashton, and Emmalyn Hensley and Logan, Evan, and EllaMae Huddle. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lynnea was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1965. After returning to the workforce when her children were old enough, she worked as an x-ray technician, was a computer programmer for Caterpillar, and was an in-home care aid to the elderly. She later returned to school, graduating from Carl Sandburg College as a Registered Nurse. She retired some years later as the director of nursing from the former Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Lynnea was a very active and devoted member of the GraceWay Church in East Galesburg. She was a very creative person, enjoying painting, drawing, sewing, and crocheting. Her vocal talents led her to be a member of Choral Dynamics for many years. Lynnea will be most remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her love of dogs.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Smith officiating. She will be buried in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to GraceWay Church or W.I.A.R. (Western Illinois Animal Rescue).
