Carl W. Vollbracht, Sr. age 73, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 10:20 am on Monday November 11, 2024 at his residence in Monmouth, Illinois. Carl was born on September 20, 1951 in Monmouth and is the son of Omer Delbert and Ruby Jane Jones Vollbracht. Carl was raised in the Monmouth area and attended local schools and the Kirkwood High School. He was previously married to Linda L. (Garner) Louck. Carl was employed for many years by John and Mary Twomey in the local Twomey Company where he drove a truck and became their “gopher” doing whatever he was asked to do. He lastly drove for Cheap Charlie and his operation near Gladstone and enjoyed helping “Cheap Charlie McChesney” do about anything. Carl was a good friend to many and enjoyed having a good personality and visiting with others. Carl also was an ” Antique Freak” collecting toy tractors and about anything else that caught his fancy. He loved driving the big rigs and loved to mow grass and local road embankments. He is survived by two sons, Jeremy E. Vollbracht and Kim of Monmouth, Illinois and Carl W. Vollbracht, Jr. also of Monmouth. There are nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren surviving. Carl’s sister survives, Connie Vollbracht of Galesburg, Illinois and three brothers, Jim Vollbracht and Beth of Kirkwood, Illinois, Richard Vollbracht of Monmouth, Illinois, and Gene Vollbracht of Dahinda, Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his grandparents and parents, and one son, Brian.

A funeral service for Carl W. Vollbracht, Sr. is planned on Tuesday November 19, 2024 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery.
