E. Mable Magner

E. Mable Magner, age 91, of Media, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.  She was born April 5, 1933 in Missouri, the daughter of Finas and Cecile Britt Davis.  On August 25, 1951, She married Kenneth C. Magner at the Old Bedford Christian Church, near Blandinsville, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 2008.

Mrs. Magner was employed at Western Stoneware in Monmouth and Conifer Corporation in Burlington for many years.  She also was a babysitter for several local children for many years.  She was a member of the former Sesame Street CB Club of Burlington.

Survivors include one daughter: Janet Magner of Media, two sons: David Magner of Duncan, SC, and Steven (Leora) Magner of Media, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and two sisters: Mildred Wenchel of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Vera Caryl Eastman of Warner Robbins, GA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, one son: Danny Magner, one daughter: Vickie Lucas, one great grandson Jonathan Cooper, and several brothers and sisters.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst.  Visitation with friends and family will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday December 4, 2024 at Banks & Beals.  Interment of ashes will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Media, at a later date.  A memorial fund has been established for Henderson County Home Health Care of Gladstone, IL.  Please visit Mable’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
