In the upcoming Primary Election in Illinois, Warren County residents will elect a new sheriff. One of the four republican candidates appearing on the ballot will be AJ Cox, who is currently an Investigator with the Monmouth Police Department, shares his goals if elected the next Sheriff of Warren County:

“Keeping the people of Warren County safe and the employees of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office safe. A few ways that we can do that is to get a School Resource Officer, multiple canine deputies, a task force officer, cracking down on the illegal activity coming into our community from our highways, more correction officers, more deputies, and more courthouse security. Along with that, training and the items they need to do their jobs correctly and as much grant funding as I can get to take the tax burden off of the Warren County citizens,” reports Cox.

“One of my biggest goals is to get people to want to work at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. I can want, want, and want all these things, but without people, I cannot fill those spots to get those things going,” Cox adds.

Primary Election Day in Illinois is Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.
