Keep the Wreath Red this Holiday Season ![]()
Every December, the Monmouth Fire Department hangs a wreath outside our station as a reminder of the importance of fire safety during the holiday season. The goal is simple: keep the wreath red.
For every house fire that occurs in Monmouth, one red bulb will go out—turning the wreath darker and serving as a visual reminder of how critical prevention is. Together, we can keep every light shining.
As you celebrate this season, please remember these safety tips:
Stay in the kitchen when cooking—unattended stoves are a leading cause of home fires.
Keep space heaters in a safe, clear area, away from anything that can burn.
Avoid overloading outlets when decorating with lights and holiday displays.
Your awareness and care help protect our community.
Stay safe, stay warm, and Happy Holidays from the Monmouth Fire Department!
