MTC Communications is moving forward with a major project to bring high-speed internet to more than 1,000 rural locations across west central Illinois. MTC Communications’ Rachel Kerns shares more.
“Our most recent grant is the ReConnect grant, which covers parts of Henderson, Hancock, Warren, Schuyler, and McDonough counties. We received 18 million dollars from the USDA, and MTC Communications is also investing an additional 6 million dollars to connect more than 1,000 rural locations. We’ve started work in Zone Two A, which is the northwestern portion of the awarded area between Nauvoo and Colusa. Construction should begin this spring.”
