Jamieson Community Center will host a Real Cost of Homeownership workshop for individuals interested in purchasing a home through its housing program. The program is offered in partnership with the Pattee Foundation.
The workshop, presented by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Illinois, will be held Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at Jamieson Community Center, 1025 S. 2nd St., Monmouth.
There is no cost to attend or apply. Applicants must be first-time homebuyers, attend the workshop, complete free credit counseling, save at least $1,000 toward a down payment, be pre-approved for a mortgage, and meet income eligibility guidelines (80% Area Median Income).
If multiple applicants meet all requirements, names will be placed in a drawing. JCC staff, board members, and their immediate families are not eligible.
