There will be a new legislator to represent the 94th District in the Illinois General Assembly. With 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Joshua Higgins received nearly 58 percent of the votes in the March 17th Primary Election. Incumbent Norine Hammond, who has served as representative since she was appointed in 2010, received just over 32 percent of the votes. Also on the Republican ticket was Bailey Templeton who garnered nearly 10 percent of votes counted.
There were no Democratic candidates on the primary ballot, so Josh Higgins will run unopposed on the general election ballot in November.
