Over the past several months, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating a series of criminal damage incidents involving rocks, bricks, and other objects being thrown at residences and vehicles. These incidents caused numerous broken windows, damaged vehicles, and significant property damage across multiple jurisdictions.

Through diligent investigative work, detectives identified a pattern of coordinated activity among several juvenile individuals responsible for these acts. The investigation revealed connections to multiple incidents occurring throughout 2024–2025 in Knoxville, Galesburg, and Warren County.

As a result, charges have been filed against several individuals in connection with multiple counts of criminal damage to property and related offenses.

Due to Illinois juvenile confidentiality laws, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing the names of those involved.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff Harlan wants to make it clear that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. The Sheriff remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of our communities and will continue to take all necessary steps to protect residents and hold offenders accountable.
