This week, members of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development and senior staff members from the City of Galesburg are heading to Washington, D.C. to meet with legislators and advocate for funding of needed projects, informs Director of Communications and Development Abby Thomas:
“We are focusing this trip out with three different projects for our area: the South Street underpass safety improvements, and then the drilling of municipal water wells, and the construction of a modernized fleet maintenance facility. All three of those projects are going to be in Galesburg and we are really excited about them. This is a really great opportunity for our area to do some advocacy because that money comes back into our community.”
The Knox County Area Partnership’s advocated projects benefit community access and upgrades to public works and public safety.
