The Monmouth Police Department is providing the following information regarding the death of an adult who was found deceased on April 20, 2026.
At approximately 6:21 am, officers responded to a report of a person down in the North East corner of the public square. Upon arrival, officers located 44-year-old Preston D. Wallace of Moline Illinois, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A thorough investigation has determined the death to be a suicide. No foul play is suspected.
The investigation is now closed. No further information will be released at this time.
