The Galesburg Police Department is getting ready for National Night Out next week at Standish Park.
Police Chief Kevin Legate says the event gives residents a chance to meet local officers and first responders.
“Basically, we bring several community vendors and members throughout the area together. It’s a great place for citizens and the community to come together, meet police officers, meet first responders, GHAS, the Sheriff’s Department, and see what kind of resources are out there. We’re looking to have pork chop sandwiches this year. Hy-Vee has partnered with us to help make that happen. It’s just a good time to come together.”
