The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 49-year-old Ronald G. Jarrell of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving an underage victim.
The investigation began after the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services regarding a disclosure of sexual abuse made by a minor. As a result of the investigation, Ronald G. Jarrell was taken into custody.
The Henderson County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Jarrell with the following offenses:
Three (3) counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X Felony)
Three (3) counts of Criminal Sexual Assault (Class 1 Felony)
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Child Advocacy Center, and all agencies that assisted with this investigation. As with all criminal cases, these charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
No additional information is being released at this time due to the nature of the investigation.
