A day after getting eliminated from postseason contention, the Cubs ended their season with a 4-0 loss to the Brewers in Milwaukee.  The Cubs had just five hits in the loss.  Drew Smyly was charged with his 11th loss after surrendering three runs on two hits in a third of an inning.  Chicago lost five of its last six games and finished a game back of Arizona for the final NL Wild Card spot.  The Cubs ended the 2023 campaign with an 83-and-79 record, and they now head into the offseason.
