Property owners across Warren County might have noticed that tax bills have not yet arrived in the mail. Treasurer Danielle Cox ensures you will still have time to make payments once bills are finalized:
“It is not just my office that handles the tax bills, it is the Assessor’s Office, County Clerk’s Office, Department of Revenue, so it is a group effort. Sometimes we hit a little road bump, which we did this year, that is why we are a little late. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have dates for when I will mail out the tax bills. By statute, I am suppose to give 30 day notice. I am going to stretch that out and I will continue to do that while I am in office because I want to give people a little bit longer time. You will have time,” informs Cox.
“Just as a friendly reminder, once I mail the tax bills out, that is when the pre-payments stop. We always have pre-payments going on, normally January until about May,” Cox adds.
