Twenty seniors in the United High School Class of 2027 have been approved by the Board of Education to graduate early, according to Superintendent Tom Hawkins:
“In the school a size of United, that is one-third of the graduating class. We are very proud of those individual students that have taken additional courses in order to graduate early. We are working with those students right now, having conversations about making sure that they come back and walk with their classmates in May,” states Hawkins.
“When we talk with the students, everything is different for each kid for their reasons why they want to graduate early. A lot of our kids are already enrolled in classes at Sandburg and they want to get a head start, some of them already have employment, whether it is construction or they have a pathway, or they just want to get to work,” Hawkins adds.
Additionally, the United Board of Education has approved School Improvement Plans across the district and Parent-Teachers Conferences are scheduled to take place on October 22nd and 23rd.
