Woman Charged In Killing Former Maquon Police Chief Wants Some Charges Dropped

A Maquon woman charged in the killing of a former Maquon police chief wants some her charges dropped for violating her right to a speedy trial.  Marcy Oglesby made the request earlier this month, ahead of her hearing tomorrow.  Knox County prosecutors say in 2021, Marcy Oglesby poisoned Richard Young by putting eye drops and other substances in his food and drink, and gave him an antidepressant without his consent.  She also concealed his death by placing his body in a box and locking it in a storage unit.  The human remains were discovered in October in the storage unit in Maquon.
