Yvonne “Bonnie” L. Asbury, 67, of Galesburg, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2023, at home.

She was born November 1, 1955, in Rushville, the daughter of Royal and Mary (Day) DeMoss. She married Robert “Bobby” Asbury on July 9, 1978, in Gilson.

She is survived by her husband nearly 45 years, Bobby; her dog, Jack; her mother, Mary (John) Derge of Gilson; her step-mother, Jenny DeMoss of Blandinsville; a brother, Joe Holt of Robins, Iowa; three sisters, Sue Johnson, Annette Faull, and Nancy Wilkinson, all of the Galesburg and Knoxville area; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.

Bonnie was a retired R.N. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1974, and Carl Sandburg College in 1994.

Bonnie loved jewelry and working with plants.

Cremation will be accorded. Per her wishes, no visitation or service will be held. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
