Story by Kadin Rogers

The United Red Storm boys basketball team has played a tough home schedule in their most recent matchups. Last Friday United would host 18-2 Princeville for a Lincoln Trail Conference matchup. The Red Storm would drop that one in a tought 65-41 loss, then turned around on Tuesday to take on a similarly tough opponent in the (18-3) Annawan Braves. United faired better in that contest, but just fell short of Annawan by a final score of 61-52. After two conference games in the past week the Red Storm now sit with an overall record of 13-8 heading into the Lincoln Trail Conference tournament beginning this weekend. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Thursday, Red Storm Head Coach Jason Lancaster says that the week long LTC Tournament will be a good test for his ballclub, as this year’s tourney features quality teams from top to bottom.

United has been placed in pool D of the LTC tourney and they will open up pool play on Saturday at Mercer Country High School against #4 Stark County, before taking on #5 Wethersfield on Monday. Both of those games will tip-off at 7:30. For the full interview with Coach Lancaster, visit the Sports Podcast section.
