Carol Ann Peterson, age 86, of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away at 6:08 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Richard Owens Hospice House in Peoria, Illinois. She was born July 5, 1937 in Gladstone, Illinois, the daughter of Earl Raymond and Frances Pauline (Krow) Bielser. Carol was raised in the Gladstone area and graduated from G&O High School with the Class of 1955. On October 26, 1955, she married Robert T. Peterson at the First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois and he survives. Together, they celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in October, 2023.

Carol worked many places during her lifetime; Sylvania in Burlington, IA, Formfit in Monmouth, IL, Gale Products in Galesburg, IL, IRC in Burlington, IA, C&C Market in Gladstone, IL where she was a partner with her sister, Charlotte. She also partnered with her husband and brother and sister-in-law Charles and Shirley Earp in Country Fun Restaurant, Bar, and Bowling Center from 1977 through November, 1993. Carol liked to bowl, was an excellent cook, and loved to travel with her family and grandchildren. Their travels took them throughout the US, Hawaii, and the European countries of France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Carol also loved music, especially her favorites, Burl Ives and Johnny Cash. 

Carol is survived by her husband, Robert Peterson of Gladstone, IL, two sons, Joel (Sandy) Peterson of Oquawka, IL and Nicolas (Kris) Peterson of Gladstone, IL, one granddaughter, Emily Stogdill, three grandsons, Arley Peterson, Seth Peterson, and Riley Peterson, one sister, Connie (Steve) Hull of Monmouth, IL, and two brothers, Earl Bielser, Jr. of Monmouth, IL and Ron (Chris Johnson) Biesler of Gladstone, IL. She is also survived by three great-granddaughters, Scarlett Lynne, Ava Grace, and Presley Kate and one great-grandson, Cash Andrew. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Alicia Pallister, brothers Robert and Dean Bielser, and sister Charlotte Foster.

A memorial service is planned for Carol Peterson at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Her family plans visitation from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial is being established and will be named at a later date.
