Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards has announced he will not be seeking reelection as Sheriff in 2026:

“I’m very likely on my very last term, but that doesn’t end until November of 2026. So, I’m not running out the door that fast. At this point I have every intention to finish the term, and the jail project is going to be in full swing at that point, so I guess that will be a little bit of a gift to my successor that it will be pretty much a turnkey operation. A lot of work to do between now and then, but it is time. I mean age creeps up to everybody.”

After completion of this current term, Sheriff Edwards will have served 21 years as the Sheriff of Warren County.
