In the Republican race in Tuesdays Primary Election for State Senator of Illinois’ 36th District. Candidate Brad Beekman from the Bushnell area, defeated Patrick Harlan from Galesburg for the Republican Party nomination.
The unofficial results show Beekman with over 53 percent of the vote with 88 percent of the precincts reporting.
If the numbers hold, Beekman would face Democratic Incumbent Mike Halpin in the General Election this November for Illinois’ 36th Senate District.
