United School District is staying busy this summer with several projects going on across the district.
Superintendent Thomas Hawkins says once students leave for the summer, the work inside the buildings ramps up.
“Right now, every building, if you walk in, it’s a maze to go down the hallways because furniture has been pulled out, floors are being cleaned, desks are being sanitized, there’s painting being done, things are being fixed. That’s what goes on in summer.”
Hawkins says one of the visible changes will be at the junior-senior high school, where hallways are being freshened up with a new color scheme.
He also says the district has started work with the Warren County Highway Department on resurfacing some driveway and parking lot areas, while outdoor recreation projects are also being added at United North, United West, and United Intermediate.
