The United Way of West Central Illinois is reminding residents about the 211 database, which can help connect people with local resources.
Madison Hieser, Community Outreach Coordinator for United Way, shares how it works.
“The 211 database is a really important resource. Think kind of like 911. If you’re in an emergency situation and you’re in need of resources such as food or shelter, you can call that number, 211, and you’ll be connected to a service desk. You’re able to ask questions about where you can find a resource that you need within your local community, and you’ll be connected to them.”
Hieser says the 211 database is also available in multiple languages. For more information, visit unitedway.org.
