West Harlem Avenue Project Making Progress with Next Phase Expected This Year

Construction on West Harlem Avenue from Main Street to G Street is getting closer to completion each and every day, according to City of Monmouth Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe:

“If you have driven by you can see that northern lane is pretty much done. Both the lanes of traffic are just about done. They are going to be working on the tie-ins at Main Street for the radius. It is possible the roadway, we are actually hoping that in a couple of weeks, we may be able to have that open as long as the concrete testing comes back and the concrete has sufficient strength. We will still see intermittent closures as they finish up driveway approaches, sidewalks, those sorts of things. We are hoping the middle to late August we will see grass seed going down and Brandt Construction getting out of there.”

For the next phase of West Harlem Avenue, which is also expected to be completed this year, Bledsoe states that stretch from G Street to the bypass around Monmouth will be an asphalt road with a gravel shoulder.
