The Abingdon-Avon Tornado football squad is (5-1) through the first 2/3 of the season. The Tornadoes suffered a week two 22-14 loss to (5-1) Annawan/Wethersfield and have ran off four consecutive wins since. During the stretch, A-Town has outscored their opponents 170-42. Leading the LincolnLand South Division at (2-0), the Tornadoes take a long trip to (3-3) (1-1) Havana on Friday night.
Already locking up a spot in the newly expanded IHSA playoffs, head coach Rick Quinn says there are many more things to accomplish this season.
A-Town will go to Havana in week 7, before finishing the regular season with another long road trip to (0-6) Rushville/Industry in week 8 and a home game against South Fulton in week 9. South Fulton is (5-1) and also (2-0) in South Division play.
