Introducing George Hennenfent – Monmouth-Roseville Education Foundation Hall of Achievement Inductee

It’s time to highlight another inductee before the Hall of Achievement Induction Ceremony on October 17. We hope you plan to attend this special ceremony!

George Hennenfent is a 1972 graduate of Roseville High School. He has obtained degrees from Western Illinois University and University of Illinois Law School. Upon graduation from law school in 1979 George started practicing law in Stronghurst with Lyman Fort. Since then, from Roseville, George has served residents of the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Many of his clients are residents of Warren and Henderson Counties. From 1991 – present, he has worked as either a solo practitioner or as part of a law firm (Simpson and Hennenfent 1991-2010, and McMillan, Hennenfent and DeJoode 2017-Present), but always running an office in Roseville.

Over the years George has done work in several areas of the legal profession including criminal, divorce, foreclosure, bankruptcy, personal injury, and traffic violations. Most of his current practice is with farmers or people who own farms. He concentrates on real estate, estate planning, and the administration of trusts and estates. George is currently on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Stronghurst and served as Chairman of the Board for 25 years.

George performed the legal work to set up the Roseville Community Center. He has served on the Warren County Library Board and the Warren Achievement Center Endowment Fund Board. He has published articles in Successful Farming, Prairie Farmer, Ag Executive, and Toastmaster. He has also sold articles to Ford Times and Farm Journal.

George is involved in storytelling. Over the years, he has told stories at Bailey’s Cave in Henderson County as part of the Heritage Days Festival, at Northlands Storytelling Conference in Wisconsin, in Door County, Wisconsin, at the Coal Valley Storytelling Festival, and at the Next to Normal Story Slam in Normal, Illinois. He has also presented his storytelling skills at local schools and community events.

George also attended Roseville Elementary and Roseville Junior High. He has connections to both Monmouth and Roseville schools. His mother, Betty, and many of her siblings attended Monmouth schools. His father, Michael, and his siblings attended Roseville High School. All of George’s siblings and his children attended Roseville schools. George currently lives in Roseville with his wife Janelle. They have two children Laurel and Nathan.
