Tucker John Peterson

Tucker John Peterson, age 22, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away much too soon, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at his home.  He was born April 15, 2002 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Quentin and Kris Ford Peterson. 

Tucker was a 2020 graduate of West Central High School in Biggsville. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth College earlier this year.  He was currently working as a data processor at the Raritan State Bank, and in his spare time was editing books for a national book publishing company.  In high school, he was the manager for the West Central Heat football team and a member of the bowling team and scholastic bowl team.  While at Monmouth College, he participated in the Fighting Scots Marching Band, Pep Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and enjoyed working out and weightlifting. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Stronghurst, and was active in the Youth Gathering at the Harmony Bible Church of Burlington. Tucker touched so many lives and was loved so much by so many.

Survivors include his parents of Stronghurst, one sister, Amanda (Jacob) Bielser of Galesburg, IL, one brother, Boone (Caitlin) Peterson of Stronghurst, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, all of whom he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Ford, and Gear and Lorraine Peterson.

The family will be present to receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Stronghurst Christian Church, with his father officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois.  Those wishing to sign the register book and pay their respects, may call at Banks & Beals from Noon until 6:00 p.m. Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the church(the family will ‘not’ be present during those times).  A memorial fund has been established for Monmouth College Wind Ensemble.
